Following the tremendous previous success of Pride & Prejudice, A Christmas Carol and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, we are delighted to welcome back the critically acclaimed theatre company This Is My Theatre to Hempstead House for another captivating festive season.

This year, they bring not one, but two beloved Christmas classics to life, offering families the rare opportunity to enjoy professional theatre in the intimate surroundings of our beautiful country house hotel. With audiences just moments away from the action, it's a theatrical experience unlike any traditional theatre can offer.

A Christmas Carol

Step into the heart of a classic Christmas tale and experience the magic of Charles Dickens' much-loved festive masterpiece brought vividly to life.

On Christmas Eve, Ebenezer Scrooge, a mean-spirited and miserly old man, is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley. As he is taken on an extraordinary journey through Christmases Past, Present and Future, Scrooge is offered one final chance at redemption. But will he embrace the true spirit of Christmas before it is too late?

Packed with charm, festive cheer and, of course, plenty of traditional carols, this heartwarming production is guaranteed to spread joy, warm hearts and leave audiences brimming with Christmas spirit.

Bah Humbug!

Created especially for the festive season, This Is My Theatre's mesmerising, 1 Act, 75 minute engaging adaptation captures all the wonder, humour and emotion of Dickens' timeless story. Enhanced by live music and traditional carols arranged and interwoven throughout by Resident Composer Simon Stallard, this intimate performance promises a truly memorable afternoon for audiences of all ages.

Recommended for children aged 5 and above.

A Festive Afternoon Tea to Begin the Celebration

Before the performance, adults can savour an exquisite festive afternoon tea, beautifully prepared by our pastry chefs, while younger guests enjoy their very own delicious festive tea designed especially for them.

We are delighted to accommodate dietary requirements, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options when advised in advance.

Guests will be seated on tables of ten and twelve in our function room, The Heritage Suite. Parties of 8 or more are guaranteed private tables. Smaller parties are of course welcome and will be placed on joiner tables.
